African American Country Music; We Call It ZYDECO!!!!

Zydeco is an African American music form that was developed in the Louisiana and Texas territories. Mostly popular in their local areas it combines African, french, native American, and other elements indigenous to these areas. Basically it's a black form of country music only with more rhythm and more entertaining. Often it's party music or dance music and at one time rivaled blues as the favored music in the jook joints of old. Sadly though this extraordinary music is a dying artform as zydeco musicians struggle to have their art heard in the melange of caccophony being issued by gangsta' rap and overproduced, over-promoted teen hormone injected country music from Nashville. Well there are some out there who brave on and keep this American original artform alive and they deserve our support. That is what this blog is for; to help give these struggling artists a platform for their music. African American country music is what I call it and before you dismiss it you need to give it a listen. Be original and be different; listening to that rap crap doesn't make you black; not listening to it actually makes you intelligent.  But check this out for it will be quite an experience for you. So without further adoo; welcome to Zydeco Blue!
